Family Works Northern Te Hononga Service Manager - Sandy Tito-Evans
Sandy Tito-Evans was appointed Service Manager of Family Works Northern Te Hononga in Manukau in November 2008. Of Tainui, Nga Puhi, Ngati Whatua descent, and having lived and worked within South Auckland, Sandy is whaea to four tamariki also of Ngati Porou and Nuiean descent and a mokopuna of Nga Puhi and Rarotongan descent. Her partner is Nga Puhi from Pawarenga.
Sandy has been the Chairperson of the Aotearoa New Zealand Social Work Association (ANZASW) for the last two years and has experience on the ANZASW professional committee overseeing supervision, social work competency, and research and accreditation for social work course approvals.
An experienced, qualified social worker with 20 years experience, Sandy is a foundation member of the Tangata Whenua Social Work Association indigenous social work body. Sandy has a PGHSM Postgraduate degree in Health Services Management from Massey University in Palmerston North. She has worked in NGO’s for several years including Child Youth and Family, and for the DHB for eight years. She enjoys time with family, motorbike riding and bushwalking.
