It has become increasingly apparent that relying solely on government funding for aged care and social services is not enough to be able to support those in the community when they need it most.

In New Zealand, the government funds the cost of basic aged care like food, warmth, shelter and healthcare – but Enliven provides older people with much more than that. Limited government funding also means Family Works services are only available for a fraction of those in need. Many more children witness violence and abuse daily, elders are alone and feel helpless, and families struggle to cope.

The good news is that together we can make a positive and lasting difference. We can help everyday New Zealanders, facing life’s most difficult times, to thrive.
